In honor of John Steinbeck's birthday (February 27) I made some new Steinbeck bracelets! I have Cannery Row already in my inventory and I made some The Red Pony!
As a child, I was looking for something new to read. I have always been a fan of horses, so my mother suggested Steinbeck's The Red Pony. Wow, what a fantastic book! I was hooked on The Red Pony, and every other Steinbeck book that I read thereafter.
I live within easy driving distance to Steinbeck country - Salinas and the Monterey Peninsula in California. Cannery Row is only 1 1/2 hours drive for me. It's pretty cool to be able to see in person the things that were written about in Steinbeck's books.
For these The Red Pony bracelets, I used my own vintage copy of the book. Nothing says love quite like repurposing your favorite childhood book ;)
