Happy August! I cannot believe that fourteen years ago today I was having a baby. And that eighteen years ago today I was three days postpartum. Yep, at my house we don't have birthdays, we have birthday season. I cannot believe that my son is legal and my little girl is starting high school.
I got to thinking last week, I had better begin preparing for winter and the holiday season with regards to my
Etsy store. Even though I have next to no activity right now (or so it seems, anyway), that will all change quickly. So I pulled out the wool yesterday. Ya know, yesterday we were at 100 degrees and in the morning, we had 74% humidity. It just felt so wrong to be working with wool during these dog days of summer. But I rallied. Thank God for air conditioning and electric fans, lol! Here is what transpired:

I began with a traveling vine stitch on the denim and detailed it with pale salmon pink french knots.

I gave the french knots "leaves" with two green stitches each to make them into miniature flowers.

The salmon pink cashmere is ribbed. Love the visual texture! The cashmere itself is soooooo soft! I used the same cashmere to make the best detail of all, the flower sewn on to the cuff. I love, love this cuff.

I experimented with this gray one too. I love the masculinity of the cuff, I think it would make a great guy's gift. Not for my guys, they don't accessorize. They are
too lazy just jeans and t-shirt types, no frills.

Again, it's the same cashmere on the back of the cuff as is what is detailing the front. I just took a strip of cashmere and hand embroidered it to the denim with blue thread. To fasten the cuff, I used a black button. Anything else would have girlified it, I think . . . . .
