The Black Stallion Bracelet

Raise your had if you are a horse crazy girl! If not, do you know one?

I first rode a horse at age three, and it stuck with me. We were on vacation in California, from our home in Illinois, and my cousin had a horse that she let us play around on. From that moment, I was sucked in! I begged my parents for years to buy me a horse. That dream finally came true when I was 33 and I had my horse, Missy, until her death nine year later, when she was 27.

As a horse crazy kid, I also loved any horse book I could get my hands on. The Black Stallion by Walter Farley was one of them. I loved the movie too, but I have always been a "the book was better than the movie" kind of girl.

Of course, you know I had to make this book into bracelets!

I  love the fine boned Arabian horse look of the charm!

I even made the bracelet in two colors - black, and blue. Of course, I will make them in any color that you all request!

Wanderlust Inspired State Map Bracelets

Just playing around with these bracelets has given me a serious case of wanderlust and I found myself making travel plans for the year! San Diego, Monterey, Denver, Nashville, and Raleigh are on my short list this year.

Are you a traveler? Or, have you relocated to somewhere else from your beloved home state? Fallen in love with your new home state? If you are like me, and love state inspired art, check out my bracelets! I created these using a North American road atlas. Shown is my adopted home state of California.

She's Come Undone

Have you ever read a Wally Lamb book? I had a custom request for She's Come Undone last year and the request included specific words to appear. I had to skim the book in order to find the words. So, while I did not read the book, I did kind of read the book. It looks like a sad story with interesting plot twists. It was a bit depressing for me, but I know that it really resonated with a lot of people.

"If you want your prayers answered, get up off your knees and do something about them."
- Wally Lamb, She's Come Undone

After completing the custom order, I made a few more, with my typical random book page beads. For those of you who are familiar with the story, you will find the whale tail fitting.

On a side note, have you ever seen seen a whale in its natural habitat? It is so incredible. Here is a fun link to see what species are being sighted off our California coast. https://www.gowhales.com/slstcurr.htm

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

I have a giant TBR (to be read) stack of books, and even more on my kindle. So, in the spirit of full disclosure, I often do not know the story, who it relates to, or what makes it good. I only know that it has resonated with a large number of people.
Here is one of those books. I know it's good and it is in my pile of eventual readings. But, it doesn't make sense to wait to put this out, right? I would not want to keep these from you! These are two bracelets made using Maya Angelou's "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings"

These greens are pleasing to look at too.

Of course, we welcome custom requests! The options are limitless. What colors would you choose, if not these?

Charlotte's Web

My Charlotte's Web bracelets were a surprise winner for me. I did not expect to be getting into children's books, as my customers mostly come looking for fandom types of items, such as Outlander, and Harry Potter. I had taken Charlotte's Web as a custom order to be given as a teacher's gift (the gift went over very well, by the way!).
Since then, my sales of Charlotte's Web items exploded! I have had orders for teacher's gifts, actor gifts for Charlotte's Web stage productions, and just for fun.
