French Themed Little Girl Embroidery

Here is what I get for spending so much time on Pinterest. So many francophiles on there that I cannot help but be influenced by it!

I wrote Le Fille in pink slipstitch cursive and added a darker pink dress. I satin stitched the dress' sash in the same light pink that I wrote the words in. I backed it in a pale pink cotton and added a pink ribbon to hang.

I wrapped the outside of the hoop with very pale pink (think traditional ballerina tutu and slippers pink) gauze. Its just too bad that my baby girl is 14 and won't want this anywhere near her room....

Vintage Girl and Dog Embroidered Hoop

Oh, I just love getting inspiration from Graphics Fairy. Seriously, there are soooo many images there! I thought that this one would be cute for my sister's birthday gift.

Isn't she cute? This tug of war with the dog is something that both my sister and I do every day with our dogs. Okay, maybe our dogs aren't so stubborn, lol! Here is what I did with this image:

I did the whole thing in a back stitch with the exception of her blue eye, where I used a french knot.

I used this pretty floral cotton for the back of the hoop.

Birdie Jacket in Denim

The inspiration: Springtime in general. I have been walking my three dogs every morning and I see flowers, blooming trees and hear the birds chirping. I even saw a bobcat in the park last month!

The Embroidery: This pattern is another from Jenny Hart's book, Embroidered Effects. This is my second project from her adorable patterns. (The first one is here)  I found this jacket at a garage sale recently. Color me lucky, I loved it!
