Country Music Singer James Wesley

If you've spent any time on my social networks (especially Twitter!!), you'll know that I am a fan of country music. My playlist is actually quite diverse, I am NOT one of those "country music is the only music" kind of people, but still... country does dominate in my house. That said, let me introduce you to a guy who has been around for a while, but is still gaining new fans with his traditional style. James Wesley has been a household favorite of ours for several years and Chris and I are super fortunate to be able to see him play fairly often lately.

If you get a chance to catch James on tour, definitely go check him out! He puts on a good show and he is the real deal. No autotune needed here.

For California peeps, James will be performing at the San Benito County Fair this Saturday, October 6, 2018. Come on down!

An Embarrassing Amount of Selfies

*For any of you who wonder where in the hell I have been lately. I've been, um, busy. Real busy.*

That's what happens when you go to an event where all of the celebrities are available to the public. Waaay too many photographs! So, I thought I would torture you all with them. Cuz my family doesn't care to see them again.

See my cute sunglasses? Ya, I broke them that night :(

This event, Golf and Guitars, was a two day event this year. I'm quite sure that the artists were up pret-ty late the night before. Everyone except for Canaan, above, put on fake smiles. What troopers!

Chuck didn't even bother. His adorable sense of humor did return later in the day.

This photo below was an event from three days before. Steve Holy played this event. I got this photo from Orangevale Pow Wow Days facebook page. See where Steve is standing? I was right under him, at the stage. So my photos were, um, crappy. If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen one.

Thumbs up for Lane

Oh, and this guy too.

This is what the event was. I won't bore you with the story, check it out if you're interested. Just enjoy the photos :)

No, I'm not sleeping. Just blinking. Seriously, this is the only way to watch a concert. I have no patience for big stadiums now.

It was very, very cool. Here is a little secret for you. Red bull and vodka is an awesome night out drink! Look at me, I'm awake at midnight, even after two drinks and a 5am wake up. Just don't have too many....... I wish I knew what Storme's secret is, he had an even looooonger day and he did at least one shot. I'll tell ya though, it took me all day Saturday and part of Sunday to recover from a 3am bedtime.

In Progress Projects (and a Peek at Casey James and JT Hodges!)

I've got some cool things that I've been working on. I'm doing a little "assembly line" embroidery (if that is even possible), finding cool stuff to stitch and I will add the backings later. Like usual, I am finding the coolest stuff on Graphics Fairy.

And here is my embroidery.

Bonne Nuit embroidery

Bonne Nuit is French for good night. So I just had to add a falling star. What night isn't good when there is a falling star included? Wouldn't this be adorable on the wall next to the kids' beds? I might have to make some in different colors.

I just love this 1889 Paris Expo antique advertisement. The Eiffel Tower was completed in 1889 and had served as the entrance to this world fair.

Can you see it? I did use silver-gray thread to enhance the Grand Prix writing.

Here is my trio. I have another Expo embroidery under way as well. That little heart will be shown off later.

Oh, and a little something else that I have been up to. I went to see Casey James and JT Hodges. You do remember Casey from American Idol, don't you? I know I'll never forget ;-)

And up and coming country crooner, JT Hodges. His hair is unbelievable.

I don't know how these guys do it.....they look so good while I look so thrashed. I might need to start using Visine at these things....

Classic Truck and a Song Lyric

I was listening to my boyfriend, Frankie Ballard, today and his song, Get On Down the Road, is as catchy as the rest of the songs on the album. In the chorus he sings

"So I, I better get on down the road
As fast as I can go
Gonna let these big wheels roll
And crank up that radio
And pull my hat down low
And get on down the road"

So of course, in pops a classic truck into my head. So I google classic truck. And I find this beauty.

Swoon!!! So I draw it.

I used my new Adesso drawing tablet. Clearly I need more practice on that thing.

Then I went all high tech and lined up the fabric to the print out of the drawing and held it up to a window and traced the image.

I realized that the words on the print out were much too small so I free handed them in pencil to the fabric. Ummm, yeah. Kind of wonky. I swear I haven't been drinking today . . . . .

Oh well. I made it for myself. And my boyfriend, Frankie. I have no idea what I am going to do with it yet. Maybe frame it rather than stretch it over a hoop? I'll bet it would be cool to make a rustic barn wood frame and display it in that.

See? Boyfriend.
Miss you Frankie. Come back to California soon, k? Mwah.
